The ampersand

An interesting fact that we are taught in today's lecture.
Our symbol for ‘and’ (the ampersand) is basically a decorative way of writing et, Latin for ‘and’.



Note that for the creative ways of writing & in the above diagram, looking closely, you will notice that the symbols are actually made up of the alphabets E and T.
